Installing COREflex SQL Server Database

This procedure installs the SQL Server database engine on your server and creates the databases necessary to run COREflex.

The procedure is a two part process.

Part 1 downloads and installs the installer

Part 2 runs the installer which installs SQL Server and the management tools.

Logon to your PC:

Ensure the user id you will be using to logon to your PC has FULL ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS.

Part 1 – Download and Install the Installer

The file downloaded is a compressed zip file. Unzip it to get the two files shown below.

Launch the COREflexSQL Installer file

Click Next to start the installation. This is installing the installer program.

Leave the install folder to default. Remember this location – you will have to navigate to here once this installation is complete.

Part 2 – Run the Installer (back to top)

Once installation of the installer is complete, navigate to C:\CoreflexInstalls\SQLTemp

Launch the COREflexSQLInstall application (top of this list)

Enter the password “coreflex”

Leave all the 5 options in the right hand window checked. Choose Public Warehouse or Lite Industrial on the left hand side (Database Option) and then click Install to start.

The program installs SQL Server 2005 Express (automatically detecting 32 bit or 64 bit version). The program defaults the instance name to .\SQLEXPRESS.

The process does not require any user input and can take as long as 5 or 10 minutes depending on computer speed and available memory.

Once SQL Server 2005 is installed it is followed by SQL Server Management Studio

Finally, the program runs three database creation scripts.

When the Exit button is available (not grayed out) then the installation is complete. Click Exit.

This completes the installation of the SQL Server database engine, the management tools and the creation of the COREflex databases.
